Optional Accessories
Figure 8 Assembly
The Larson Cable Trailer Figure 8 Assembly reduces the time and manpower needed to figure 8 a cable. The trailer will safely figure 8 cable and rewind cable at approximately 700′ per minute. We have demonstrated and tested this device with most of the Fiber optic cable manufacturers, and it has been approved as a safe method for figure 8ing various types of cable, including ribbon fiber. The time and labor savings this accessory provides equal a significant increase in production and decrease downtime.

Figure 8 Fork
Only available as an option when purchasing a Larson Figure 8 Device. The Figure 8 Fork allows a single crew member to bring cable straight up off the figure 8 pile to avoid tangling while rewinding.

Level Winder
Ensures consistent cable spooling with automated level winding technology. Eliminates uneven winding and reduces manual intervention during cable handling operations. The level Winder accessory provides:
- Uniform cable placement preventing overlaps and tangles
- Extend cable life through proper handling
- Reduced manual intervention during reeling operations
Fiber Blowing Attachment
Larson Cable Trailers now offer a Fiber Blowing Attachment that mounts into the figure 8 device. Many customers have utilized this attachment for short runs of 1,000’-1,500’ or longer runs up to 6,000’-8,000’. We have had great success blowing most 1-1/4” duct runs with a common 175 air compressor found at many rental stations. The blower body is from Condux and is compatible with most of their venturis, seals, and duct adaptors found on the larger units. This compact, easy-to-use and set-up unit comes in a heavy-duty aluminum toolbox.

Articulating Pole for Fiber Blowing & Figure 8’ing
The Articulating pole for the Figure 8 device/blower allows for several different configurations to fit the situation you are working with.

Receiver Hitch
Available only when purchasing a Larson Figure 8 Device. The Larson Cable Trailer includes two built-in receiver hitches that can easily connect to other equipment, cable, wire handling attachments, or even another trailer.

Dumpster
With the optional Dumpster Attachment, the Larson Cable Trailer becomes an even more versatile tool. The hydraulic lifting rack handily loads the dumpster onto the trailer, even when the dumpster is full. Due to its heavy-duty steel construction, the dumpster can accommodate a wide range of materials, including excess dirt and gravel, as well as rocks and other debris. The capacity of the dumpster is 2 yards and will operate as a dump truck by fastening to the lower end of the lifting rack.
Tensioning Brake
While stringing cable or wire overhead, the Tension Brake accessory is an excellent tool for maintaining steady tension on the reel when running wire over driveways and roads.
Diesel Powered Engine
Diesel power is now available on either the LCT-7500 or LCT-5620 trailers.

Winch
Need to move a pad-mount transformer or string overhead wire? The winch accessory is a very useful tool for many jobs! It also comes in handy when framing poles for overhead wire!
Ramps Loading
To make the flatbed more practical, we offer optional loading ramps for loading small equipment. Storage compartments are included in the trailer.
Case Study
CommScope Chooses Larson LCT7500 Cable Trailer for Product testing.
Catawba, North Carolina- CommScope is a respected leader and innovator in the communication/fiber optic cable industry. When they wanted to test a new process of ink jet printing vs. their current impact printing on their fiber optic cable, they chose a Larson LCT 7500 cable trailer to figure 8 the cable and simulate a real world installation test for wear and tear at their headquarters in Catawba, North Carolina, with their executives and engineers in attendance.
To test the durability of the new ink jet process, one side of the cable was printed with their old impact method, the other side the new ink jet. The simulation required the cable to be blown through what would amount to be over two miles of duct. Rick Larson, President of Larson Cable Trailers, was on hand for the test to figure 8 the cable and set up the trailer to blow the cable through ducting equal to normal field conditions.
“This was a great way to simulate field conditions right here at our facility, and to have our engineers and staff on sight to see the results” said Chris Gemme, Director, Field Application Engineering at Comscope. “The Larson 7500 is versatile and impressive, and provided us with exactly the field simulation we needed”.
